Although it's not clear if this is the original Montag/Shannon tape, TMZ reported today that Vivid has the footage and co-founder Steve Hirsch said the amateur XXX film was “extremely erotic.”
Hirsch said he actually saw the tape which co-stars Shannon's boyfriend, "Smallville" actor Sam Jones III and that he'd "love to be able to release it."
Hirsch wouldn't divulge his source, saying only that said he obtained it from "a reputable third party" and he is "very impressed with the quality and content.”
The Shannon sex tape saga began when Montag’s estranged husband Spencer Pratt began shopping an alleged tape that included a tryst with Montag and Shannon, but the goods were never delivered.
Shannon claimed that Pratt had actually stolen the tape from her house, which leads to speculation that this may be the tape in question.
But the deal’s not done yet.
TMZ spoke to Jones who said, "I understand that the guy from Vivid saw footage with Karissa and I in it. We have spoken to our legal team and they will be dealing with this ASAP."
